Weekend! Finally!

Happy Day in San Fran!

I haven't done a good job of updating this blog lately. Our weekends have just been bombarded with things, which leaves no time to update any one other than immediate gots to knows!

So last weekend, we took an extended weekend down to Sacramento to surprise Drew's grandma for her 80th birthday on Monday. We took off bright and early at 6am on Saturday, hung out that day. Drew and I drove over to San Francisco on Sunday to check things out. Lets just say the seals were disgusting. Too bad alcatraz was sold out! I guess it gives us another reason to visit again some day! Then on Monday, we did the whole birthday deal, and drove back on Tuesday.

Beautiful day!!

My kids at work punished me on Wednesday and Thursday for deserting them. Today was much better though. Those guys just don't like change.....maybe that's why we all get along so well. hahaha

For those that are awesomenss, know that I'll be teaching 2nd grade next year, so I get to also change classrooms. I've been dragging my feet for the last couple months to start consolidating and getting things ready for the big move. I stated cleaning out files today and boy there is a lot of stuff! I'm kind of excited to downsize so much and not feel guilty about dumping a whole lot of stuff I haven't used in the past year. THrowing things away is SO therapeutic for me. I love it!

Probably the c00lest store, EVAR!
Tomorrow I get to hang out with my BFF's! Going to lunch, pedi's and bridesmaid dress trying on-ness. Love it! I might actually consider doing the touch up paint on all the moulding around the house too...but only if I really get crazy like that!

Only 3 more weeks til Mexico! I can't believe it's going so quickly!

You can't see it as well, but there were undies hanging up to dry in ChinaTown, awesome!!!

Happy Anniversary!

Maddy and I have been married for 6 years today. We met in person for the first time on December 11, 1999. We did not participate in any activities that required money. That was my idea. It was the cheapest date I had ever been on. I have only been married once so I do not know how expensive my marriage is compared to others. We dated continuously from that date forward until I proposed on September (something), 2001. (It was not September 11th. Who do you think I am?) We were married May 17th, 2002. 6 years ago today.

I would not normally get away with blogging on our anniversary, but Maddy is still in bed recovering from some sunburns she acquired from the Oregon coast yesterday.

To everyone out in Blogger land; Have a good day and be nice to everyone around you because if you are mean to someone and it gets back to Maddy or me on our anniversary...I will hunt you down.

Mooonday

I don't have a whole lot to write, but figured I would. Our houseguest is getting a bit more tolerable. I was able to chat with him about certain things that bother me and I kept a cool head about it. I was extremely proud of myself....this doesn't happen often.

Work went rather well. I'm starting to freak out a bit about only have 3.5 weeks of school left though, and not getting all my assessment stuff done. I'm also all paranoid since I'm taking off 2 days in the next 3 weeks as well. I hope I can find enough filler stuff for my sub to do since I'm wrapping up everything.

I don't have any new pics to upload, and I feel kind of bad. Not bad enough to do anything about it though! haha!

PostSecret

Every Sunday morning, I get out of bed and race to load my computer so I can go read the new secrets on PostSecret.blogspot.com. Sometimes, if I'm up late enough, I'll go see if they're there late Saturday night, but I still don't let myself read them. I also like to go back during the week and see what comments have been made concerning the secrets that have been posted. A little crazy? Maybe.

So this weeks have been wonderful. A lot of liberation and anticipation of the future, and it made me feel good. I thought I'd share this thought.

My brother-in-law is moving up here tonight. Wish me luck with patience, caring and understanding. I'm extremely cautious of this transition, but I have been re-framing my mindset to deal with it. I hope it works.

Shake It!

I got home from SLC a few hours ago to a very quiet house. I'm not used to Drew not being around. Thankfully it won't be long. I realized once again that I don't think I'll ever have the ability to move back to Utah. Here are some reasons:
1. The bleached blonds that have their children as accessories. Everyone knows they have dark hair, so why hide it? I have a *very* hard time with this...much more than I realized.
2. I love the ocean. I love being 45 minutes from the coast. Sure, it's cold, but the beauty is worth the cold.
3. I love the green. We went during "green" season to Salt Lake and it was still gross and dirty colored.
4. Road construction. I hate it, and where my mom lives, you have to go through all the nasty construction to get anywhere downtown. yuck!

I do miss some things though, I guess I'm not as heartless as some make me out to be!
1. Mountains. I love Mount Olympus. I miss looking at it from mom's backyard. The trees were all in blossom out back, and having those trees frame the mountains was beautiful.
2. Family - I love you guys, so maybe you should come move up here?? :D

--yeah, that's about all I miss. Oh, and I miss a couple of my friends, but I have great friends here too, so it really is a toss up!

I can't believe I have to go back to work tomorrow. Since I missed assessment day, I'll be there late making up for it. Maybe I wont dink around too much though. I'm glad I got to see Jimmy grajimutate though, that's a huge accomplishment, and I'm proud of him! - oh, and Shel, I need your pics from Sat! :) I'm going to go upload mine right now. <3

Shel and Jimmy with the Bull. Aggie? Who knows!

A pretty sunset flying into SL,UT
