Updates

I don't have any fun pictures to accompany this, but I thought I'd put an update since I haven't been on in a couple of weeks.

  • Only 3 weeks and one day to go. Hopefully I can at least last the next 6 days, then I'm in the clear with school. I did my report cards today, so the only thing I need to do it pack up my room.
  • Speaking of packing up my classroom, there might be some good news on the horizon in terms of jobs this fall. The master minds have been at work shifting contract and union language to try to get the teachers back with more seniority before those below us. Keep us in your prayers that this is true, because if it is, I'll have a job this fall!
  • Drew is doing his bar prep classes and they seem to be taking up more time than law school did. I'm glad he isn't working right now, cause then I'd never see him! Let's just hope and pray he passes the bar at the end of August so he can make some real $$$ :D
  • My blood pressure is up, up, up, and when I called the doctor to report on my numb fingers, I was told that if I had any headaches, blurred vision, or if I gained a significant amount of weight quickly (not hard to do unfortunately! hahaha)- that I was just to go to labor and delivery. Once I hung up the phone, I totally freaked- realizing that oh my gosh! I am close enough that they aren't going to try to stop anything. Scary!!! I think we're as ready as we're going to get though. Now I just need to get a few things together in case it happens in the middle of the night and my mind is going 3 million miles an hour, doped up on Unisom. :)

I think that may be about it. I can't think of anything else. :) Hooray for boring weeks in anticipation of the silliness I thought might be a good idea. hahahaha

Oh, and p.s. to all those parents out there- help your kids with homework! Spend time reading to them and doing math games. You'd be amazed at how much it helps them not just academically, but socially, and emotionally as well!

PHEW! What a week!

This past week was one of the longest, most tiring weeks of my LIFE! Here's the run down:
  • Baby shower with church friends on Thursday- very awesome, and such great people!!!
  • Friday- I spent 6 hours decorating cupcakes. I had told R. I would do the cupcakes, and I went a bit overboard on decorating. I told everyone that if they wanted them for their own, I wasn't going to make them! hehehehe Maybe just sharks instead!
  • Saturday- Had a family/friends baby shower- once again, wonderful people that I love to death!!! Since everyone was in town for Drew's graduation on Sunday, we did dinner as well. I didn't realize it was so time consuming to feed so many people! wowee! My feet/ankles were so angry with me.
  • Sunday- Drew FINALLY graduated from Law School! I was so excited for him!!! There's such great adrenaline/energy at graduations! Even with lame, boring speakers, it was still a great experience. Now he has a higher degree title than I do again. Dang. I guess I'm next for a Ph.D. Too bad it'll take a while for me to forget the grueling commitments that darn Masters took! After the ceremony, we headed back to our house and had a BBQ with the whole family, which was great fun. I'm gratful for all the help I got with that one!!!
  • Sunday also happened to be our 7 year anniversary, but we had previously decided to celebrate that this last Wednesday rather than on Sunday. So on Wednesday, we went out to lunch, went and got our last ultrasound before little girl is born to make sure everything was going well, and out to dinner. It was a nice day. It was also nice to take a break from work. Don't get me wrong, I love my job, but sometimes, it's nice to leave the kids and not have to worry about them for a little bit. They seemed to have had a good time, too. :) As for the ultrasound, it looks like everything is go for launch! Thankfully it seems as though my genes have taken over on baby size rather than the Jackson genes- for which I am EXTREMELY thankful!!!!! (7-7.5lb baby vs. 9.5+lb baby). My only concern? Where the crap has all this other weight come from!?!?! I also DO NOT like this water retention game. It isn't funny.

So I guess that's about it. summarized like that it seems to have no been so bad, but going through it was grueling. Sunday night I was thinking how nice it would be to go back to work to get a break. hahahaha I have never felt that way before!

I also started washing baby clothes and blankets. It seems so weird to have it so real. We also went and bought a playpen/bassinet for out bedroom on Monday with some gift cards we had. Drew set it up "just in case" and it's so weird to have that hanging out in our bedroom as well. Crrrraazzzyyyy

What were we thinking!? I can't believe there's a little more than 4 weeks left. Please tell me the stomach doesn't get much bigger?!!? PLEASE!?

Slacker

Since my computer is no more, I haven't wanted to do a whole lot on Drew's since it's not the same, and I hate change. Anyway, I felt bad for not posting anything, so here's some randoms.

We went out to the coast and saw a seal/sea lion? (don't know which) surfing the waves. I was a little late at getting the camera out, but it was still hilarious!

This pic is two-fold #1- the most important is my cutie toes I got painted on Friday. I did a "responsible" color since Drew's graduation is on Sunday and I didn't want to be stared at TOO much. :) Also, you can distinctly tell that my left foot is more swollen than my right. cankles ahoy!

Random Goodies

I haven't gotten my computer fixed yet, so my blargs are fewer between than I'd like. So here's some catching up--

  • We have a new pet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His name is scratchy and he lives under our neighbor's shed!!! Drew finally got a picture of him a couple of days ago:

-he's a RACCOON!!! but I think he's gimpy :( which makes me sad.

  • I had a baby shower with everyone at work on Friday. I cannot believe how awesome all those ladies (and a few gents) are! I think everyone in that school showed up to show their support and eat cake! It was wonderful! I'm so glad I know all of them and they seem to like me enough to come hang out with me for an hour on a work day! So if any of them read this, THANK YOU!!!! I have quite a few thank you cards to write as well! Wowee, we got some great stuff!
  • I got these awesome little hanger divider things at Burlington Coat Factory today. They have these little stickers you put on them to divide clothing into newborn, 3 months, 6 months, etc. up to 8T so that you aren't searching everywhere for clothes to fit. I saw this on someone else's blog about a year ago and thought it was the most brilliant idea ever! I had been looking for them since we found out we're having a chunker, and finally found them today! I'm pretty excited! I now have them spaced out up to 12 months in the closet right now! hooray! I only have 2 newborn things, but I doubt she'll be in those very long, so that's ok, right???
  • I went to the doctor on Monday and he said that I'm measuring to have about a 7lb baby. My immediate thought was- what the crap is all this 'OTHER' weight for?!?! I am DOOMED! But surprisingly, he didn't harass me about the weight gain! I was so glad! I finally remembered to ask why they always check for the heartbeat down by the left side of my pelvis and he said it's because the baby usually hangs out on the left side and kicks on the right- and sure enough- that seems to be the norm on me, too! I don't think I have ever felt kicks on the left side of my stomach. It's usually down on my bladder or cervixs, up in my ribs (ouch!) and on my right side- ALL over the place, oh, and in front, too. So that was kind of neat to know. He says everything sounds good. The next time we go in, we'll have another ultrasound to make sure chunker is where she needs to be for D-Day! - I think she is though since I have some nice morphing going up by my rib cage!

  • Speaking of morphing, and since there seems to be no more room (except jabbing in my ribs) I get quite the entertainment after school from watching bums and knees and legs roll around my stomach! It makes me laugh!

  • I also saw this lady at Old Navy today, and overheard her say to someone that she's due in 9 days. This woman was GIGANTIC!!!! Oh. My. Gosh. If my stomach gets that big, I will seriously bawl every single night. I honestly have no idea how she's doing it, because MINE hurts and I still have 7 more weeks! So cross your fingers for me everyone! I promise I won't complain about the dreadful acid reflux at 2am that chokes me every night so long as my stomach doesn't get that big!
Okie dokie, I think that's about it for now. :) Less than one Mexico left before sweet "little" girl will be here. And a scary thing to think? NEXT month Me, MADIFERINA JAXON will have a BABY!!!!!!!!! I sure hope it turns out ok! lol
