Stupid Weather

Drew and I were going to go out to the coast to go whale watching yesterday, but thought better of it because of the snow flurries here and there; we decided today would be a better day. We got up early so we could get in some shopping, and then headed over to Fathom's to eat and watch whales. Last year, we were able to see about 5 or 6 whales while we ate, and there was NOTHING today. I was a bit disappointed. I read though, that the mom's and babies end up migrating in a few more weeks, until about June, so I guess there's still some possibility of getting some whale observations in. I love those guys! - I also think we couldn't see them cause the weather couldn't make up its mind if it was rainy or clear, so maybe the whales were further out, in less choppy water?

Also, for those that know, or don't know, we have been ripping this place apart! Since we didn't go to the coast yesterday, we put the lighting in, in the kitchen. It was quite the ordeal. Drew was up in the attic cutting out the holes while I stayed below for saftey and accuracy duty. We were both worried it would look weird when we were done - but to our surprise, it looks incredible! I'll upload some pics later when I pull them off the camera. We also got another dumpster and were able to get almost everything off the porch (where our hord of unwanted crap has gone). So all we have left is a large pile of cut up wood from the beams in the ceiling, and cut up doors....SOOOOooOOooo, if anyone want some free wood, come get it!!!!!

There's only a week or two left before our lovely countertops will be here, and then we'll finally be done with the kitchen (other than a few minor touch up stuff). Thank goodness! Then all we have left is doors, and moulding....until we get crazy again and start ripping apart the nasty bathroom. ;-)

I guess that's about it for now. I think I might go play Sims for a while.

Have you ever gone on the whale watching boats? There are some that go out from Newport Bay. I've been on them a few times, and we've always seen whales-- even gotten pretty close. You should check it out next time. Can't wait to see pictures of the remodeling!

Yeah, we remodeled our last place down in Utah, so we're old hens at it, but it still doesnt make it any easier! We're *ALMOST* done (for now! hahaha) - we went to Lowe's and bought all the moulding and doors today, hooray!

Pretty sad about the whales for you, too! :/
